Close mentorship, carefully adapted

There is no standard student. There should not be a standard lesson.

At Vox Bonum, each lesson grows from what the teacher hears, observes, and understands in the moment. Technique, repertoire, pacing, and explanation are adapted to the person in the room.

This is an organic form of teaching rooted in close mentorship: attentive, responsive, and purposeful. Students are not handed busy work. They are guided toward greater control, confidence, musicianship, and independence.

The philosophy

“Strength in music is not always loudness. It is knowing when to sing fully—and when to hold something with care.”

Lessons cultivate more than correct notes. They develop perception: how to listen, how to make choices, and how to use technique in service of expression. True confidence grows from understanding and control.

The teacher

Experience in the classroom. Attention of the private studio.

Vox Bonum was founded by Miguel Martinez, a choir director and music educator with more than fifteen years of experience developing young musicians. His work spans choral singing, private voice, beginner piano, and guitar, with roots in both concert music and mariachi.

The studio began from a desire to offer the kind of concentrated guidance that can be difficult to give in a large classroom: time to listen closely, diagnose clearly, and teach the person rather than simply deliver a program.
